Out of it

Yesterday, I had a horrible day on air. I had a hard time keeping my energy up, I was tongue-tied and stuttering, plus I even almost completely missed one of my segments.

My daughter leaves for Denmark in a week. She'll be there indefinitely. With the days numbered, the reality of it is just starting to set in.

As a DJ, you're a performer. You have to present an upbeat entertaining program. Nobody wants to tune in to a depressed announcer. So you just have to do your best, since "the show must go on".

When you're just having a typical bad day, it's hard enough. But when you have one of those life-changing problems hanging over your head, it's almost impossible.
