Serving Two Masters, sort of

Right now I'm holding down two jobs. On weekdays I work full-time at the Online Advertising department of the Houston Chronicle (chron.com). During the weekends I do eight hour shifts at as a Master Control Operator at KNWS, a local TV station.

I actually I'm not forced to work eight hours a day for seven days a week. My wife has even been convincing me to resign from my weekend gig. But I'm just so determined to get my family on our feet here in the U.S., that i want to quickly earn what we need.

The weirdest thing though, is that I'm not complaining about all my hours of work. I guess in some way I feel that I need to pay my dues. For nine years, the lifestyle of an announcer kept me free from the constraints of eight hour days. Now I suppose, I'm about due for some time in the trenches.
